Enjoy the place
We are so lucky to have this beautiful, peaceful space right in the heart of Thornwood. It's is a haven for nature and wildlife, a great area for children to play in and the perfect place to get away from the sights, sounds and pressures of city life. Please help to ensure we'll all be able to enjoy this wonderful place for many years to come by observing these simple rules.
No dogs please
Sorry, but dogs aren't allowed anywhere within the grounds. Even if your dog is well behaved and you clean up after it, if other people see someone with a dog on the land, they will think it's alright for them to bring their dog on to the land too. Not all dogs are well behaved and not everyone cleans up after their dog. We do like dogs, and we realise this is an inviting space for both dogs and their owners, but please remember this is primarily a children's play area.
No planting
Please don't bring any seeds or plants onto the land. The area is maintained by Glasgow City Council's Education Estates Management Team. They are responsible for cutting the grass and maintaining the trees. The planters and flower beds are maintained by Thornwood Community Council on behalf of Thornwood Primary School. We do not have permission to plant anything within the grounds. Please note that some non-native or invasive species can be harmful to the natural ecosystem.
Be respectful and leave the place as you found it
Please don't leave litter or damage any of the plants or equipment. If you spot any litter, it would be good if you could pick it up. We're keen to demonstrate to the school that we can be trusted to share the land with them, and that we are good neighbours. Let's make sure that we continue to be welcomed in.
